“I want my vacation”

by Caleb Reading

I just saw a commercial where a guy in a suit in a huge corporate office (with a view) was saying how great it is that his employees take less vacations than workers in other countries (and 26% take no vacations at all). He ended his speech with a huge smile, saying “Your time is our money.”

The commercial was advertising this site:

The website lists some facts and says: “Corporate America cannot get away with this exploitation any longer!

Guess who funds that site (and who’s website that page directs you to)?

Universal Orlando.

Yep. So there’s this corporate-bashing commercial urging us to downshift . . . so we can spend copious amounts of money on corporately-organized vacation packages.

I am in Bizarro world.
